For Aislinn Moore, attending college at seventeen isn’t a big deal. Not when compared to the difficulties associated with seeing ethereal beings and having prophetic dreams.
As Aislinn learns to surmount the obstacles of her talents, she awakens something inside herself—an ancient memory, long forgotten. She senses there are reasons for her gifts, but remains unable to understand them.
When Alexander Welch enters her life, she learns of the Ewlishash—the hope bringers—and thinks she may have found her answer. Alexander is sexy, sweet, and his talents are like something straight out of a Sci-Fi flick. Aislinn wonders if she may be like him, but the more she tries to fit his mold, the more her instincts scream that her destiny holds something even greater.
My Review: I really loved this book from start to finish. Seeing things and having prophetic dreams, drew me in and it reminded me of a series I loved. But this book was on a new level, which makes wanting more of Aislinn.
Aislinn is a normal girl, having a normal college life. She just happens to have some awesome gifts, which she better keep hidden. Things don't go all super crazy and have her life go everywhere. Aislinn is strong and very likable, and she even seems like she could be a girl that you would actually meet. Aislinn has now been added to my favorite character list, yup she is that good.
Beside Aislinn,Alexander is brought into this story. He has his own talents, maybe even like hers? Well he has his own thing, but they do fit wonderfully together. Like two souls, finding each other and knowing they are meant to do some super cool things with their powers. Aislinn has a huge destiny in front of her. Seeing ghosts and knowing the memories of others, will lead to something, that will take her away from her normal life. She must learn to use these gifts for this destiny. Learn about everything that is happening and how this will play out. When it does, will she have a normal life for good? Have Alexander with her for always?
College and knowing you have this special destiny at 17, must be pretty easy though. Usually at that age, everyone is trying so hard to figure out their life and what their own destiny will bring. To bad we can't all be lucky and know what our future will hold. Though I can do without the friend, boyfriend, and who you are drama. She has a lot of drama in the start. I don't remember having that much drama at 17. Now 16 maybe...but that's a different story.
Aislinn and Alexander work well together and I hope they become stronger as the books go on. Alexander's description is very nice by the way. Describes one of many guys I think any girl would die for, just saying.... I wish I has Aislinn's ghost seeing powers, I swear there is a ghost at my old place. Plus holding an object and knowing a person's fate is a really cool gift. I think this book is perfect for YA Readers and a really good book for non YA readers to start off with.
Alaina's writing is beautiful and stays the same through the book. Never bored me, confused me, or made me want to chuck the book. Smooth writing and wonderful world, will keep any reader addicted from the start.
