Book Two in the The Dark Side series.
Can she outrun the secrets of her past, or is surrender her only choice?
Eva Byrne’s first encounter with the darker side of Nathan Darke’s sensuality ends in disaster. Frightened, hurt, betrayed, she struggles to regather her shattered confidence—in him, and in herself.
Desperate to continue her journey of exploration and self-discovery, Eva has to convince a sceptical Nathan that she’s worth the trouble. And that she can learn to submit to him. When she is forced to reveal elements of her past she has preferred to keep hidden, both her brilliance and her vulnerability are laid bare. Will Nathan accept Eva as she is, and help her to become the woman she longs to be, or will she face yet another rejection?
Terrified and intrigued in equal measure, Nathan has no idea how to deal with the exquisitely enigmatic Eva Byrne. Should he cut his losses and run, or allow their relationship to continue, and watch as Eva’s delicate beauty unfurls in his hands?
Fascinated and ensnared by Nathan, Eva longs to taste what he offers and her erotic journey continues. But how much will she have to surrender to him in order to liberate her own desires?
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of dominance and submission, including sex toys, pain play, anal play, nipple clamps, erotic waxing, restraints and caning. It is best read in sequence as part of a series.
My Review: Okay remember what I said, about book 1? Well I loved it and book two was lovely icing on the cake. Oh remember this book is for mature people. Don't continue if your not comfortable with this style of book. Eva and Nathan. I guess you could say its difficult with them. Since things didn't end so well with them. Eva's first encounter with Nathan was not the best. However, do things get better? I think Eva likes Nathan, even if she isn't a perfect sub. The way Nathan is, you can tell he likes Eva, but can he tell her? If you want it to work, then say something and work on it. Sex isn't the whole world, but in this genre it kinda is. Won't complain though, this is some wicked cool writing by Ashe.
Let me jump into the story before I keep ranting. The scenes are hotter and some made me giggle. Like when Nathan took a photo of Eva and then has her spread over the leather sette. She doesn't want to, she wants no more photo's taken! That made me giggle, she doesn't sound serious enough, and she is just thinking about how that settee didn't work out so well that other day. Oh Eva, your such a fun character.
Nathan is fun, he's never fully naked when they start something. He always has her naked first and set up while hes all half undressed. He loves being a tease, and who doesn't like that? Gives more entertainment for us readers.
So just that small room scene was HOT, like he takes her to a limit before he finally gives it all to her. Ah, loving this book and it's only about 4 chapters in. Yep, I'm gonna say this book is much hotter and book 1. Wonder how hot the next book can get.
After a nice night Eva comes up with a plan on what she wants Nathan to do next. Canning, Eva wants it, though Nathan isn't keen on it. Huh, an idea that Nathan doesn't like? Well isn't that something. Well ever since what happened the first time they tried it, I would be mad if Nathan actually liked doing it again.
Oh and that barn scene was a yummy scene Perhaps my favorite. But I have to stop there before I give anymore away.
