Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

My Review: Juliette has been betrayed by every, especially by her parents, who had sent her away. Now for the longest time, she has come to call her cell home. A small solitaire brick and pages of paper that she writes in, has been all she knows. The world around her has been changing and now she doesn't know what is going on out there. Who knows how much has changed.

So why is Juliette locked up? Well if you touch her, it won't be the most pleasant thing to do. What makes things harder on her, is when they give her a cell mate. She wakes up to find that this new mate is a boy. Yep, Adam is thrown into this cell with her. He does try his best to know Juliette, but she won't give him much. She just mentions over and over, that he can't touch her.

Eventually the day comes, when soldiers come in and take them away. Soon they are both in a room. Though Adam is dressed in a soldier's uniform, and Juliette is very confused. Did Adam really play her? Did he really care for her? Well I can tell you that he does want to help her and get her out....though I won't saw how he does that.

This guy Warner, is the head of all these soldier's and he wants Juliette. He has been watching her. After all this time, he's decided its time to take her. He takes her to the main building that everyone stays at. Warner plans to use her for her power. Juliette doesn't want any of this. What can she do? The building is full of soldier's living there, plus there are camera's. So for now Juliette will have no choice to play along. After finding out what Adam really is and the he wants to help to escape, well I guess she just has to deal with it.

So this is just about half the book. There is so much detail that it seems like two books in one. I LOVE this book. I had it on my list for so damn long and seen that so many people like it, so I finally got to it. This book is just amazing that I'm pretty mad, that I waited so long. This series is already on its way to book three!
