When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. Eleven years later, Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. She’s not the person she’s always believed herself to be, and her whole life begins to unravel—all because of Finn Holmes.
Finn is a mysterious guy who always seems to be watching her. Every encounter leaves her deeply shaken…though it has more to do with her fierce attraction to him than she’d ever admit. But it isn’t long before he reveals the truth: Wendy is a changeling who was switched at birth—and he’s come to take her home.
Now Wendy’s about to journey to a magical world she never knew existed, one that’s both beautiful and frightening. And where she must leave her old life behind to discover who she’s meant to become…
My Review: Wendy is a super cool chick, she just doesn't know it. She is at another new school, hoping to do her best. Wendy has changed schools once again, causing her brother and aunt to drop everything and move closer to her new school. For some reason people seem to not like her and cause problems which lead to her being expelled from schools. Now at her new school people don't seem to care that she is new, and this one new kid who is newer than her, seems to have an eye on her. Soon she figures out why all this keeps happening and how she can will people to do things she wants. Finn, the new kid attempts to tell her she is a Trylle a.k.a a Troll. Wendy at first won't believe him, even though what he says has truth behind it, and Wendy knows it. So what does she do? Wendy goes downstairs the following morning and looks through old memories. There are alot of happy photos of her brother Matt and their parents, but when it comes to Wendy the photos weren't as happy. Her mom had this look of annoyed or hate in every picture. One reason was that Wendy was supposed to be a boy, second Wendy according to her mom was evil and didn't want her. As I dive into the story more, I find myself unable to stop. This new world of Trylle is one of the best worlds to read about! When it comes time for Wendy to head back to the community of Trylle, Finee takes her to this massive place which ends up to be her home. Oh and she is a Princess! Though not to thrilled about it, plus her mom the queen isn't the best lady out there. She seems to care more about her duty than anything else. Shows very littler emotion at all, there is just something about her that will make many readers not like her. She is more than emotionless, but I won't go to into it. One guy at the place is called Rhys and he is one cool guy! Wait until you figure out who he is. It is almost a given when you meet him the first few times, but still awesome. Wendy however gets into quite the pickle near the ending. She hates all this stuff she has to do, not that she completely hates being a princess but just the way she has to come about it. It's like she has to be this perfect girl 24/7 within the first day of being there. One thing Wendy knows is that she will change alot of things when she gets the throne. Now the love with her and Finn is toooo cute. They try and act normal, and it takes him leaving for them to finally open up and admit that she wants him there and that he likes her. They share a kiss and it only makes thing worse and better. Better they want each other and are perfect for each other. Bad because of their roles in their world. However things are proven at the night of Wendy's ball. Finn returns and does everything he can for her. Some people fought and some hide in fear. It was mostly the royals who went poof during the attack, while the "second royals" people who are high up, but still under the queen, were the ones fighting back. Even the ones who don't have abilities were doing all they can. Eventually the attack is over, and they don't expect another one to happen anytime soon. The following morning Finn tells Wendy he is leaving, and she just won't have it. This time when he leaves it will be further than before and who knows what will happen. Finn won't let her leave with him though, believing it is best for her to stay. So what does this strong Wendy do? She takes Rhys and runs back home to Matt and Maggie in the middle of the night. So right now I am seconds away from buying the next book because it was just that good.
