Doctor Lynn Davis is kidnapped by handsome Lord Kyle von Talion and taken to a far off planet, Saldiora. As she finds herself in this unfamiliar culture, she must learn to fight with a sword, ride a talking horse, and endure the politics of a royal court if she is to survive. Kyle has his hands full keeping Lynn from making cultural blunders and ensuring her safety. The Juntu's are plotting to take over Saldiora and consider Lynn to be a threat to their success. Will Lynn live long enough to fulfill her destiny and save the kingdom of Saldiora?
My Review: So I love Linda's writing. The way this book was written made me enjoy the book more than I thought I would have.
You see Dr. Lynn is teaching her college class where no one is paying attention. Who would want to listen on a hot day, let alone even want to go to class. With close to an hour left in the lecture, some men interrupt. One man is called Lord Kyle and tells Lynn that she must come with them. With not much of a choice they take her with them. She wakes to this room confused and with a headache. She is more upset about her locket no longer around her neck. Eventually a doctor comes in and clears to leave the room. That's when Kyle enters and gives her some answers, before taking her to her room. At this point Lynn has learned that 1. they need her help. 2. she is not completely a prisoner. 3. she is on a ship that is quite high tech. Lynn wakes up, finding she had this horrible dream. Although is it really a dream? Is she really being injected with something? Well after what Lynn overhears she doesn't waste much time. She jumps into the vents hoping to escape. So some time passes and Lynn's escape, didn't go so well. She jumped down the vent and landed on the captain. Yep, not the best thing, but hey it's better than the vents. So what happens next? Well she tries to get out, but can't. Lynn finds out she is on a different ship than she thought. Plus Lynn is about to train for a competition. What kind? Well you will have to find out. Plus they don't say very much detail at first. Almost like they are hiding something very important. Now as you get into the book some more, you find yourself in a new place. A new group, and a new mission. Juntu's want to take over. To do that requires a lot of work and planning, and someone to do the actual work. One family is chosen, but the eldest daughter had died, so the next shall have to take over. At first it doesn't seem like the girl likes the idea, but at some points she finds reason to enjoy what is happening. One thing they really want to do it kill Lynn. Apparently she is strong and a threat. Sadly Lynn at this point still hasn't the slightest idea as to why she is REALLY there. Bits and pieces that they give her just aren't enough. So as the book goes on, the story gets really intense that you don't stop until its all over. I would have to say that I am looking forward to another book being done, so I cant know more.
