Kylie Galen's life hasn't been the same since her world was turned upside-down in Born at Midnight, Shadow Falls #1, and now an epic conclusion to her journey—not to mention a tough choice between two guys!—is brewing in Chosen at Nightfall:

When Kylie Galen left Shadow Falls, she thought it was the hardest decision of her life. Heartbroken and separated from everyone she loves, she has to embrace her abilities and what it means to be a chameleon. But as Kylie's journey comes to a close, she must return to the camp that started it all...and she must finally chose between the two boys who love her. The werewolf who broke her heart when he chose his pack over her, and the half-fae who ran from their intense attraction before they ever really had a chance. For Kylie, everything will finally be revealed and nothing will ever be the same.

My Review: This book was way to amazing to be the last book in the series. Sadly it is the end, but C.C. does have a story coming out about Della (:

Okay...So Kylie has left the Shadow Falls camp to be with her granddad at his camp of chameleons. Which is what Kylie is along with being a Protector. Which is good, because for the longest time Kylie had no clue what she was. Any who Kylie, her granddad and aunt are eating pizza. They have started making some of her favorite foods to be more considerate. Now when I have pizza, I take out the plastic plates and make everything easy clean up after. Kylie however is eating her pizza on fine china...like really? Fine china is more for fancy food/parties, but hey the plates are the last thing on Kylie'd mind. She is always thinking about Shadow Falls, her friends, Lucas, and about the new things she has learned. Suddenly her granddad leaves and rushes back saying the FRU have gotten in and they must become invisible and hide. Some time passes and they are told to go to a new location to hide.  Kylie then hears and suddenly knows who is there. Derek, Burnett, and Lucas have come there. After some fighting with her aunt and granddad, Kylie becomes visible and she starts talking to figure this out. Burnett has come with news that Mario, the rouge has attacked a girl at the camp, and Kylie may be in trouble. Mario want's Kylie, if not to join him, then to be killed. ......Later that night Jenny appears at Kylie's window telling her to grab her things and follow her. As they make their way to the back woods Jenny explains that Kylie must get out of there because the elders won't let her leave. They will kidnap her if they have to, she wouldn't have left in the morning like she thinks. Nearing the woods they hear footsteps that end up belonging to Derek, which they explain whats going on keep mpving forward. Now just feet away they hear more sounds, this time its harder. The guards are invisible, so Kylie makes herself and Derek invisible to and that way she can figure out where they are....Now at Shadow Falls Kylie has no time to rest, first she gets back talks with people and at her cabin Luke is there and she still want's nothing to do with him. Although everyone keeps saying to give him a chance. Like all he did was get engaged and married to someone he didn't want to marry, oh and he never signed the papers. Totally no problem, right? Eh wrong on so many levels and Kylie just can't get over it no matter if she had enough time or not. After sending Luke off she walks to Hayden's cabin and who finds her but Burnett. This guy does not want her out alone and now is very angry with her, though he has a soft spot for her and can't be as mad as he seems. Now at the cabin he demands answers from them, and Kylie has Hayden agree to saying everything....Since she won't go away Kylie will have to figure something out with this ghost, but not right now. To make things better they along with Burnett head to the falls where they feel all calm. Calm is not what they get, at the falls they find a sword and when picked up by Kylie it glows.....With the sword gone they go back to their convo about boys and hickies, all totally normal until the sword shows up once again. A scene that I liked was when Holiday needs a favor from Kylie. She tells Kylie that they are going to the store and needs her to buy pregnancy tests for her and to buy tampons is their story for going. There Kylie buys them while Holiday keeps Burnett away. Once she paid for it and the awkward convo with the old man she turns and runs into her grandpa. All he does is give her phone back and said he is trying to keep her safe and wasn't in on the kidnapping. Then he goes to leave but Burnett see's and flips shit. Grabs Kylie gets her in the car and starts going crazy. She tries to explain but he won't listen and Holiday is trying her best to calm him down......Later that day they head out to lunch only to arrive back at the camp with more drama! Her mom comes running up to her because the card company had called, and so her mom called to see and make sure it wasn't stolen, then went into the whole, "is the tests for you" talk. ........Holiday reveals that she is pregnant and that Burnett was a total ass. He does show up seconds later with the biggest bouquet of flowers ever, plus he admits he is an ass but will continue to stay and marry Holiday and have this baby. Ok the book is brilliant but if I keep going the review will be to long for people to read. I will keep the ending hidden for you all to read yourself and enjoy all the fun, shock, happiness that this book will bring you.  I will be on the look out for more books from C.C.!

Soon Kylie will have to choose: Will she stay with the new family she’s formed at Shadow Falls, or will she leave with her grandfather and embrace her destiny?

My Review:
kylie starts off the book calling herself a lizard. Apparently her dad said thats what they were and that they will figure it out together, but Kylie still doesnt know what he meant by being camilion. So Kylie walks behind the office and stares off into the woods. She hears something calling her to the woods. Before she can think about it Derek shows up and he and Kylie talk. He still feels what Kylie feels and loves her. Kylie and Derek continue to talk when Lucas shows up and acts up. Kylie ends up running from him and goes to her cabin. She os in a bad mood and takes it out on her friends Della and Miranda. Once calm enough Kylie goes to look for Lucas. Finding that hes in the woods, she goes there to find him. Della and Kylie make it to the woods and find that they arent alone. They met with a group of werewolves. They mean no harm though, one of then is Lucas's dad abd only wants to talk. Lucas appears and begins to talk after telling the girls to leave. Now late at night Kylie has a vision that scares her. Della comes to check on her afterward and then leaves. Once better Kylie goes outside to meet Miranda in hopes of making Socks a real cat again. Miranda tries and fails, but as Kylie takes Socks back in she mentions something and it turns Socks the sunk into Socks the cat. Now what could Kylie be? Is she a witch? For the meantime Kylie just goes with it. Meanwhile the voices from the woods keep calling Kylie but now she hears a scream and her instinct to protect takes over. She goes into the woods and saves a girl and as she leaves the fog turns into someone she knows. She gets back to camp and Burnett is angry. Besides that they fins out that the girl Kylie brought is really Lucas's sister. They talk and then Lucas shows up, and then he notices Kylie's new pattern. He doesn't seem to happy about it. After a while Holiday and Kylie talk, Derek tells Kylie that Holiday had a sister who matches the description of one the ghost's she has been seeing. Kylie wonders why she hasn't mentioned it. Then later Lucas comes by and fake breaks up with Kylie and she doesn't quite know how to respond. So Kylie goes on with her life, and helps Della and Miranda set up the dinning hall for the welcoming. Miranda is upset about how Kylie reacted to being a witch, but they make up and all three girls just talk and have some fun. However Kylie felt uncomfortable with everyone staring at her pattern.  On the other hand as she goes around Derek comes up to her and they find out another puzzle piece to the ghost problems. But that will be held off for now. The next day she heads to the falls with Holiday and Burnett. They talk more about her grandpa and that they haven't hear much yet, so they just talk, until the ghost appears. They ghost starts up telling Kylie she has to protect Holiday, but before she could get more Holiday's phone rings from an usual person. After that they leave with Burnett taking to Kylie wanting to know everything, and so Kylie reveals all. Shortly Kylie comes up with a plan. Later that night after getting an e-mail from her grandpa she decided to go meet him. She heads toward the cemetery, on her way Lucas and Perry find her, but she didn't have time to waste, so she ditched them and ran quickly before they can catch her. Just outside the cemetery Kylie encounters Hanna and get alot more information on how to help her and Holiday. After that she heads into the cemetery. She finds her grandpa and her aunt who both confirmed just what Kylie is and he grandpa wants to take her with them but she wont go, she knows that Shadow Falls is where she is meant to be right now, and to top it off she now has a vampire pattern!   Before she can learn more Perry and Lucas finally caught up to her, and just like that her aunt and grandpa were gone. Kylie runs off back to Shadow Falls and upset at Lucas, but before she can hop the gate to Shadow Falls Lucas tackles her down. Kylie is upset but then she ans Lucas are fine again. He also explains a way for them to get over the gate without triggering the alarm. Now Kylie just toss and turns with worry of everyone looking at her pattern. The next day Kylie goes to find Holiday only to find she is meting with her ex who may be a killer. She and Burnett go to find her. They find her and once Holiday sopts them she comes out and after looking at Kylie they leave and that's when Kylie reveals to Holiday about her twin sister being dead. Now I can write about page after page after page, but then my review would take up the whole front page. So I will leave the rest of the book for everyone to read. However this is just another AMAZING book in the series with only one left to go.

An amnesia-stricken ghost is haunting her, delivering the frightful warning, someone lives and someone dies. As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever imagined.

My Review: The book starts off with Kylie meeting her grandparents for the first time, but her meeting is cut short when Bernard calls it over before it could really begin. Once they leave Bernard explains that they were fake. Kylie take that news and adds it to her pile of problems. Luke is back and now Kylie and Luke grow close while Derek is off on an assignment. Kylie works on her feelings and she might just go with Luke, until she hears that Luke's pack may have a problem with her not being a werewolf. With those problems aside, Kylie works on her ghost problem. At the end of the book Kylie figures out some amazing things.  She figure's her ghosts message, and figures out her true identity. This ghost is Kylie's real grandmother and the so called fake grandpa at the beginning was her real one after all. Kylie is finally getting the answers she is looking for.

From the moment Kylie Galen arrived at Shadow Falls Camp, she’s had one burning question: What am I? Surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, fairies and witches, Kylie longs to figure out her own supernatural identity…and what her burgeoning powers mean. And now she’ll need them more than ever, because she’s being haunted by a new spirit who insists that someone Kylie knows—and loves—will die before the end of the summer. If only she only knew who she was supposed to save. And how…

But giving Kylie the most trouble is her aching heart. Gorgeous werewolf Lucas left camp with another girl, but he’s still visiting Kylie in her dreams. And Derek, a sexy half Fae who’s always been there for her when she needed him, is pushing to get more serious—and growing impatient, especially when Lucas returns. Kylie knows she needs to decide between the boys, and it’s tearing her up inside.

Yet romance will have to wait, because something from the dark side of the supernatural world is hiding in Shadow Falls. It’s about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny.

My Review: Kylie is at shadow falls still wondering who she really is. Everyone has their own idea about what Kylie may be, but none of them are right. But Kylie doesnt have much time to wonder about herself, right now she has a new ghost who has proven to be very difficult. This ghost insists that Kylie knows someone who is going to die and that Kylie must also help the ghost figure out her own identity. Along with the ghost problem Kylie also has her guy problems. Derek the fey has been pushing Kylie to become something more than just friends, however things didn't turn out the way either of them expected. The end of the book brings us a new threat. This threat can bring trouble to the world that they know and potently ruin everything for the camp.

Book: Shadow Falls #1

Publisher: St. Martins Griffin
Pub Date: March 29 2011
Genre: Young Adult
Format: Paperback

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs.

My Review: Kylie's good life quickly turns.  She goes to a party which quickly goes bad. Her boyfriend dips on her when cops come to end the party and even though Kylie wasn't drinking she was stilling taken in. Kylie's mom comes and picks her up and she becomes even more upset.  Kylie is sent to a camp for "troubled" teens. She arrives there and begins to see there is much more to this camp then meets the eye.
