After almost a year in Japan, Katie Greene has finally unearthed the terrible secret behind her boyfriend Tomohiro's deadly ability to bring drawings to life—not only is he descended from Kami, the ancient Japanese gods, but he is the heir to a tragedy that occurred long ago, a tragedy that is about to repeat.

Even as the blood of a vengeful god rages inside Tomo, Katie is determined to put his dark powers to sleep. In order to do so, she and Tomo must journey to find the three Imperial Treasures of Japan. Gifts from the goddess Amaterasu herself, these treasures could unlock all of the secrets about Tomo's volatile ancestry and quell the ink's lust for destruction. But in order to complete their quest, Tomo and Katie must confront out-of-control Kami and former friend Jun, who has begun his own quest of revenge against those he believes have wronged him. To save the world, and themselves, Katie and Tomo will be up against one of the darkest Kami creations they've ever encountered—and they may not make it out alive.

My Review: Finally!! The feeling I had with Ink is back with the final book!

Katie is finding her way in making Japan her home. She is trying hard to make up her school work and catching up to the other students. But then a prank that she and Tomo had nothing to do with cause them both some trouble. Yup, Tomo is suspended and Katie isn't in as much trouble, but trouble nonetheless.

Katie is a bit more hopeful than Tomo that they can calm is dark powers and lock them away. But how? Being descended of a God means strong powers, and it's going to take a lot of work to pull this off. With some help and gifts they may have a way to find the answers they seek. But they'll have to figure that out while having Jun in their path. Dark Kami, ink, blood, its all about to go down in the darkest book of the series.

American Katie Green has decided to stay in Japan. She's started to build a life in the city of Shizuoka, and she can't imagine leaving behind her friends, her aunt and especially Tomohiro, the guy she's fallen in love with. But her return is not as simple as she thought. She's flunking out of Japanese school and committing cultural faux pas wherever she goes. Tomohiro is also struggling—as a Kami, his connection to the ancient gods of Japan and his power to bring drawings to life have begun to spiral out of control.

When Tomo decides to stop drawing, the ink finds other ways to seep into his life—blackouts, threatening messages and the appearance of unexplained sketches. Unsure how to help Tomo, Katie turns to an unexpected source for help—Jun, her former friend and a Kami with an agenda of his own. But is Jun really the ally he claims to be? In order to save themselves, Katie and Tomohiro must unravel the truth about Tomo's dark ancestry, as well as Katie's, and confront one of the darkest gods in Japanese legend.

My Review: Eh I'm not too sure about this book. Loved book one, but I struggled to finish book two.

After everything that has happened, Katie has decided she is going to stay in Japan with her aunt. She wasn't quite ready to leave this life she was building behind. Though there are going to be struggles ahead for her. Like failing school. Normally she could do some extra work after school, maybe even summer school and things could get better. Well school in Japan is a a bit stricter. She needs to get things on the right track and making less cultural mistakes...

It all starts just fine then about halfway the story slowed down and lost my interest.  It took a while for my interest to peak back up, however, by then the book was nearing the end.

Hopefully the final book will turn out better.

On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.

Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.

Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive.

My Review: Amanda starts of strong with her debut book. Ink has a new and unique story, that changes the YA world. Paper Gods, Kami, Ink power, all new and super cool. When I found out about this book I was surprised that it was different and that it took place in Japan. Not many books out there are set in Japan. So I gave it a try, learned about paper gods, and some Japanese!

Okay so about the book... Katie's mother has passed and now she is to go live with her Aunt in Japan. She was to go live with her grandparents in Canada, but due to her grampy having cancer, they won't be able to take care of her right now.

So off in Japan, Katie must learn a new language, a new culture, totally different surroundings  and most of all, to have a normal life. During school she realizes that she has the wrong slippers on. She heads to change into her school slippers, when she runs into a horrible breakup going on near her. Once its all over she notices that a sketch book was dropped. When she looked at it the drawing moved! Okay so drawings are supposed to stay on the paper and that's it. Nope, this one moves, like it actually looked at Katie. Before she can do much, the owner of the Sketch book comes and takes it. Though is this guy a jerk! Hopefully he get gets better during the book.

As you get halfway through the book, you will sit there and yell for more. Like the owner o the sketch book ended up being Tomohiro, who is this cool Kami. Now he explains this somewhat vaguely, and you will beg for him to explain more. Don't worry he does, he tells Katie everything he knows and just how she may tie into this. Now does she tie into this because she hols this ink power to, or does it have something to do with the gang ties?

Tomohiro's friend is in this gang, and well if he knew just what Tomohiro really was, he'd try to make him join. So they must keep this all a secret, because really, a Paper God? Who could believe that? Well you'd be surprised at that.

Nearing the end you will find yourself torn on wondering if Katie and Tomo will stay together, or stay apart like people want them to. The Ink wants power, and being together makes the Ink react more when Katie is around. Will she stay away and keep everyone safe, or risk it for each other?

After being taken by a gang and then saved by another, will they realize what the risks are, and just what power they truly hold? Well you must read this book, because I feel like this book will make for great chit chat.
