So tell me about these planets! Why did you decide to do your books on different planets?
Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by the solar system. I drew pictures of the planets, I made models that I could hang from the ceiling, painting little white styrofoam balls myself, and I went to planetariums and observatories with my mom. Once I realized I wanted to write futuristic, erotic romance, I couldn't resist creating a world of human colonies on the planets and moons that I'd already read so much about.
Let’s say you couldn’t use planets. What name would you give your worlds?
Ooh, that's a tricky one. I watch so much Star Trek that I'm afraid I'd subconsciously use some of the planet names in those TV series. But if I had to choose, I'd definitely use the names of old Celtic goddesses, because I like Celtic mythology a lot.
So I know there is a book 3. What can you say about it?
Well, the blurb and book cover are already up on Goodreads :) I can tell you that it's a slightly darker book than the previous two. Svetlana (or simply Lana), the main character, is an Elite girl who's abducted by a notorious space pirate. This guy, Bruce Randall, is her father's worst enemy, but he's different than she expected. She can't help being drawn to him, but their romance isn't exactly sugar-coated. The first two books in the series were sweeter than this one - Chase You To The Sun is a book about tortured souls. I immensely enjoyed writing it, but I can imagine some people won't like it as much as the other two.
How do you get inspired to write these books?
I am always inspired to write about love, so that's easy :) What's more, the more I write about this futuristic world, the more storylines I come up with. It's a plant that kind of waters itself, if you know what I mean.
Is there a reason you decided to write these books with different stories? Do you plan on writing a series that continues on certain characters?
In the first book, there's a couple, and then there are side characters that come back in Book 2. In Book 2, there are side characters that come back in Book 3. I am planning on using all of those characters again in Book 4, but that book will, once again, focus on a different couple falling in love. The reason I'm doing this is because I love bringing characters back, but I also love writing about people courting each other, slowly falling in love, the thrill of getting together for the first time, and this is something I can only do if I choose to feature a different couple in every book.
Are there any other genres you would write in?
I guess I could write in fantasy, but I'm just gonna stick with Sci-Fi for now! :)
What are your future plans after book 3?
After Book 3, I am going on a writing break. I've written three books in three months, so I think I need to step back for now and try to feel where these characters want me to take them from here. I do know that the wormhole they discovered in Book 2 will play an important part in the books to come, so my main characters might visit world outside of the solar system (and who knows, I might throw aliens into the mix... let's see :)
